Palos Verdes, California resident Estonian artist Aapo Pukk received the Grand Prize for his oil painting entry in the “People and Figures” competition (# 76 December 2010/ January 2011). International Artist Magazine is distributed in 21 countries and is voted the best artist magazine in the world.

Award-winning Estonian artist Aapo Pukk, a South Bay resident, will showcase his portraits and landscapes in Malaga Cove Library Art Gallery. Exhibition opening was happening today, Saturday, November 6 from 1-4 pm. Fabienne Marsh, novelist and filmmaker, introduced Aapo's exhibition.
The show continued with live demonstration, a pastel portrait of Inger Skarnas & classical melodies by Christine Lee.

Mrs. Helen L. Hilton Sowell, 79, died at 12:44 AM PDT Tuesday 30 March 2010 at her residence in Palos Verdes Estates, California. She was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and graduated from Meeker (Oklahoma) High School, and the University of California at Los Angeles, where she earned a B.A. degree in Speech and Education. She later earned an M.A. degree in Speech and Language Disorders from California State University, Long Beach.
January 19, 1922 - March 17, 2010. Pastor of Estonian Pentecostal Church of Stockholm 1993.-2007.
