Portrait Story.
Interview by Kristel Suur.
The 26th Los Angeles marathon took place a few weeks ago, on March 20th, and among the runners were several Estonians, including Mr. Tint.
Heinrich Krupp (b. October 16, 1927) is the founder of TURVAJA Patent Agency and its first CEO 1988 - 1996, Chairman of the Council 1996 – 2006. It is notable that TURVAJA, established on 1988, was the first private patent agency in the whole former Soviet Union, the second one was only founded in Moscow six months later. Heinrich Krupp is also the founder of the Association of Estonian Patent Attorneys and one of the creators of the patent attorney institution in Estonia, being the registered patent attorney No. 001.
MY INSPIRATION.
I believe that every portrait artist is constantly on the lookout for his perfect model. He is searching for that special person who can tell a story without using words - not just his or her story but also the artists story.

Thank you so much for capturing my father’s (Bernard W. Nurmsen b. 1907 – d. 1995) essence in his memorial portrait . The portrait is a tribute to his 47 years of community service and community involvement in Los Angeles. It was an honor to work with you.

Well, on morning my husband, Howard and I were lingering over our breakfast cup of coffee when he surprised me by saying he would like to have a portrait of me, similar to the one of his Aunt Bea who was displayed on the wall in our bedroom. His Aunt Bea was his mother’s sister and was beautiful as a young women and it showed in her picture. The frame was oval and it especially appealed to my husband. If we decided to go ahead with this exciting project it would be done in a oval frame.
When I walked into the gallery that displayed such wonderful, inspiring art work, I was awestruck! However, when I laid eyes on the portrait that Aapo did of my husband, Lawrence, I burst
into tears of joy! The portrait of Lawrence is so life-like, you could almost reach out & touch him! Thank you for such a great honor! Aapo, you truly are an artistic Genius!
Lovingly & Respectfully,
Carla E. McCue
I first met my neighbor Aapo not long after my beloved father died.
Though I’m not especially religious, I was convinced that my father, a General Electric employee by day and an amateur artist in his spare time, had planted an artist in my newly adopted state of California. My father and I shared a passion for painting. I don’t think we believed places really existed in time or in memory unless they had been observed, interpreted and captured by an artist.

This client had told me that Aapo and his beautiful wife were close family friends and that Aapo was a remarkable portrait artist. She just raved about some of the beautiful portraits that he had done of her children over the years, and promised to bring photos of the paintings next time she came to see me. True to her promise, the next time she came, she brought shots of some of the pictures. I was blown away.
The Art of the Portrait. Masters Showcase. Aapo PukkMy subject is a mime. An actor from the street of Venice in Italy. He is standing inside an improvised column that is really a veneer box, imitating marble. He is wrapped in a bed sheet with folds and creases in it. His face is covered with a thick layer of paint.
